CALL TO ACTION: Protect Iowa Children

Updated: Mar 12

This is more than pornographic and obscene books. We need to protect our minors from irreversible damage. We may not have enough votes to get this bill passed. The hold outs need to hear from us!

They are debating over these bills Wednesday 3/8! 5 BILLS that need our Help.

Do not let them remove another child's breasts or give them puberty blockers or cross sex hormones. These are life altering and dangerous procedures and drugs that are being given to minors in Iowa.

HF 623 - full legislation here. - Prohibits "gender affirming" surgery of minors

Excerpt from the bill: a health care professional shall not knowingly engage in or cause any of the following practices to be performed on a minor if the practice is performed for the purpose of attempting to alter the appearance of, or affirm the minor’s perception of, the minor’s gender or sex, if that appearance or perception is inconsistent with the minor’s sex.

(1) Prescribing or administering gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues or other synthetic drugs used to stop luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone secretion, synthetic antiandrogen drugs used to block the androgen receptor, or any drug to suppress or delay normal puberty.

(2) Prescribing or administering testosterone, estrogen, or progesterone to a minor in an amount greater than would normally be produced endogenously in a healthy individual of that individual’s age and sex.

(3) Performing surgeries that sterilize, including castration, vasectomy, hysterectomy, oophorectomy, orchiectomy, and penectomy.

(4) Performing surgeries that artificially construct tissue with the appearance of genitalia that differs from the individual’s sex, including metoidioplasty, phalloplasty, and vaginoplasty.

(5) Removing any healthy or non diseased body part or tissue.

There is uncertainty as to whether or not this bill, which protects minors, (who can't get a tattoo or smoke a cigarette or have a beer) from being castrated, having their breasts removed or from being sterilized.
