Medical freedom is the reason many of us got involved in this movement in the first place. The past few years have exposed serious concerns about bodily autonomy, informed consent, and government overreach. From mandates to misinformation, we’ve seen firsthand how essential it is to stand for our rights and demand transparency.

I had the honor of sitting down with Gabby Fistler and Lindsay Maher from Informed Choice Iowa (ICI) for a powerful conversation on the ongoing battle for health freedom in our state. These women are on the front lines, working to ensure that every Iowan has access to critical information and the ability to make their own healthcare decisions without coercion or fear.

Legislative Victories and the Fight Ahead

This session, we’ve seen some incredible progress at the Capitol. Thanks to the efforts of ICI and a group of dedicated legislators, bills that strengthen informed consent, uphold exemption rights, and push back against federal and corporate overreach are making their way through the process. Special recognition is due to our brave legislators who have courageously championed these efforts. Their work is a testament to the power of persistent advocacy and citizen involvement.

Parents deserve the full truth. Schools send out forms saying ‘No shots, no school’—but they don’t tell you that exemptions exist. Informed consent is not just a right; it’s a necessity. - Gabby Fistler

One of the most critical bills ICI is supporting is the Exemption Notification Bill, which would ensure that parents are properly informed about their right to medical and religious exemptions for vaccinations. Despite common sense being on our side, this bill has faced pushback from those who believe that keeping people in the dark is a valid public health strategy. As Gabby and Lindsay shared in our interview, informed consent is a fundamental right—not a privilege.

Exposing the Truth & Empowering Iowans

During our conversation, Lindsay shared her personal journey—from studying virology to realizing the ethical concerns surrounding vaccine production and the manipulation of medical data. Her expertise and firsthand experience make her an invaluable advocate for transparency in medicine.

Public health should be about education and recommendations—not coercion and omission. If we have to hide information to push an agenda, that’s not science. That’s manipulation. - Lindsay Maher

Gabby, a school board member and mother, spoke about how the fight for informed consent is deeply personal. After witnessing the lack of transparency in schools regarding vaccine exemptions, she took action. Now, she’s helping to push for legislation that ensures schools clearly disclose the rights of parents and students when it comes to immunizations.

ICI and Iowa Legislators have also been tackling alarming loopholes that allow minors to be coerced into vaccination without parental knowledge. We discussed the HPV and Hepatitis B consent bill, which aims to close these gaps and prevent medical professionals from pressuring minors into life-altering decisions without parental involvement.

What You Can Do

Staying informed and taking action is crucial, and ICI needs your support. Here’s how you can do both:

🔹 Follow ICI on Facebook: Informed Choice Iowa Facebook

🔹 Visit their website: www.informedchoiceiowa.com to sign up for updates and action alerts.

🔹 Contact your legislators and urge them to support bills that protect medical freedom.

🔹 Attend the upcoming ICI Conference on November 22nd to hear from leading voices in the movement.

Our conversation reinforced a powerful truth: we cannot afford to be passive. The last few years have proven that when we give up our medical autonomy, we open the door to dangerous precedents that can impact every aspect of our lives. It’s time to reclaim our rights, hold our leaders accountable, and ensure that future generations grow up in a state where freedom is not just a word, but a reality.

Stay informed. Stay engaged. And most importantly—stand for freedom.
